Adult Complex Thyroid/Parathyroid Surgery FPD Exam Administration Moving to Every Other Year

The ACTPS FPD exam is now being offered biennially as per updates from the ABS and the ABOHNS.

The Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Focused Practice Designation (ACTPS FPD) Examination will move from being offered annually to being offered biennially following the April 2027 administration, the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) announced today.

The next exam opportunity following the 2027 administration will be in spring 2029 and every two years thereafter.

Information regarding eligibility criteria, application timelines, and specific examination dates for the April 2027 administration is available via the ABS website. For specific questions, please contact the ABS FPD Exam Manager.
